Neuroinflammation is a chronic inflammation of the central nervous system and has long been studied for its connection to the development and progression of Multiple Sclerosis. However, new research is increasingly finding that not only are many cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia related to neuroinflammation, but classic mental diseases such as schizophrenia, bipolar and depression, as well as autism, may also be connected to brain inflammation. When brain cells are damaged the microglia work harder to repair the damage and in the process, produce a variety of inflammatory factors which results in
further damage to the neurons in the brain and central nervous system. Ultimately, the increase in the production of inflammatory molecules in the brain potentially results in neurodegenerative diseases. Current understanding of the causes of neuroinflammation include: neurotoxins,
autoimmunity, head trauma, aging, pathogens, and decreased vascular integrity.

In this seminar you will learn:
• The driving forces behind neuroinflammation
• The importance of the gut to brain health
• The dysregulated stress response in major depression and the beneficial role of healthy sleep in all neuropsychological disorders
• Key treatment targets linked to neuroinflammation
• Key nutrition and how it can help
